Handmade Bath Soap
Having a handmade bath soap can be one of the most enjoyable things! Since most handcrafted soaps are of very high quality, it's a great way to pamper yourself a little bit everyday. If you're not sure about where to find a good handmade bath soap, or if you find retail prices to be a bit too expensive for your taste, why not try making your won handmade bath soap?
Making your own soap can be pretty enjoyable on its own. Plus you get to have your bar (or liquid) of luxury soap for less! Here's a handmade bath soap recipe you can easily do!
Ingredients:
2 bars Castile soap (grated)
½ cup almonds (ground)
½ cup distilled water
2 tbsp. almond oil
¼ tsp. Vanilla essential oil
Instructions:
1. Using a double boiler, melt your grated Castile soap in ½ cup of distilled water. Stir the mixture till all the grated soap bits melt, and the mixture has slightly thickened.
2. Add the ground almonds and essential oils and stir until the mixture is evenly blended. You can also use a stick blender on the low setting.
3. Once you have an even mixture, pour the liquid into your soap molds. You will probably need a few molds.
4. When the soap is completely hard, pop them out of the molds. You should be holding a hard soap bar. If the soap looks strange, consult the soap making troubleshooting page.
5. Set the bars on a drying rack in a cool but dry place. You will have to turn the bars once every three to five hours during the day to make sure the soap doesn't take on the design of the rack.
6. After about three weeks, your soap should be ready for use!
For special occasions, you can wash yourself off with this amazing milk bath. It's a great special treat to give your skin from time to time! Mix two cups of full cream powdered milk, ½ cup of epsom salts 6 drops of sandalwood oil, 5 drops of vanilla fragrance oil, 4 drops of gardenia oil, and 4 drops of orange essence oil. Just pour it into the tub while it's filling, and you are sure to have a wonderful bath time.
